A hermetic refrigeration compressor is
one in which both motor and compressor are kept in a solitary external welded
steel shell, it is otherwise called a fixed compressor. The motor and
compressor are directly coupled to the same shaft, with the motor inside the
refrigeration circuit.
This compressor is widely used in commercial, and
